ANG YIANSANN, Industrial Designer
ANG YIANSANN is an Industrial designer who has long been interested in the relationships and distinctions between fine art, industrial design and popular culture. He graduated and studied at the LaSalle College of the Arts with a Diploma in Art from 1986-1989. From 1995- 1998, he was awarded an arts scholarship from Lee Foundation to study at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and graduated with a Master degree in Industrial Design ( by Research). From 1999- 2002, he was appointed Fellow at the Department of Architecture, National University of Singapore and lectured in industrial art and critical design.
In 2008, he co-founded the ARTINNO Contemporary Art Project (ACAP) in central Vietnam and collaborated on an experimental art space in Hue City from 2008-2010. He research and works on social- political inknography and extemporize design , the conceptual art and design of singularity and insularity, related to contemporary social-political issues in China, India and the Southeast Asian region. He travels extensively in this region as an inspirational and field research study for his creative works.
He is an award-winning artist and his creative works have won international recognition which include "2000 Outstanding Artists & Designers" by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge-England , as well as "Five Hundred Leaders of Influence" by the American Biographical Instititute, USA in 1999. He is listed as an Biographee in the "Asian & American Who' Who Volume I by Rifacimento International in 1999. He also received the "International Gold Star Award" by the India International Friendship Society in 1997, as well as awarded the "Painting of the Year" by the United Oversea Bank Group, Singapore in 1988.
